Old vineyards planted generations ago. Flysch and marl soils with plenty of shell limestone formed 3 million years ago and more than 100 different tiny sites with considerably varying soil formations. Warm winds streaming in from the Pannonian plains versus the cooling influence of the Vienna Woods and the Danube River. All these unique factors produce great wines.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/section>

The house originally provided shelter and accommodation for those working in the surrounding vineyards. In 2001, it was converted into a place where friends of the estate can while away the hours with a good glass of wine.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The enchanting Rotes Haus, the legendary premium location Nussberg, the heavenly panorama \u2013 all these factors merged into one and sparked enthusiasm in Hans Schmid. It was here that his idea was born and here that he realised his dream of crafting truly outstanding Viennese wines. He purchased the hidden treasure on the edge of the impressive individual estate as well as the surrounding vineyards. The premium wines produced by the Rotes Haus are an expression of this deep-rooted passion to the craft and great idealism.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/p>\n

We have the perfect wine for every occasion \u2013 our classic Wiener Gemischter Satz DAC is known for its lightness, fine fruity flavours and good length \u2013 the single-site wines are characterised by their complexity, minerality and longevity.<\/p>\n

The Chardonnay is aged in a small wooden barrel and combines fine roasted aromas with a complex shell limestone mineral tone. For the perfect finishing touch, we have a sweet Traminer which pairs excellently with cheese, pastries and other desserts.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
